REUNITED - Missing...Vinton, VA

Reunited with family.

SENIOR W/CANINE DEMENTIA - MISSING SINCE 10/21/12

PLEASE HELP - Sunday 10-21-2012: My little Senior Pekingese Zoey has spells of confusion and wandered off while I was standing just a few feet away from her - in hindsight she was acting a little strange - canine dementia is very difficult to tell what is going on as a dog can seem fine one second and then disoriented the next. It is a very frustrating condition.

LOCATION: She is probably close by the area of E. Virginia Ave, Vinton - on the side of the BP gas station on up to the Dance Etc. store ACROSS from Famous Anthonys and the Moped dealership. She will be skittish and hiding - she may be hiding in a basement window well, underneath a shed or outbuilding or big shrub. And she may be mistaken for a skunk at first glance - she is distinctly bicolored black and white with black face and head, alot of white on chest, underbelly and legs, medium coat straight hair, about 15 pounds and about 20 inches length, short peke legs and very peke face. Again, she will not come to her name or let you touch her.

Please do NOT have her taken to the Regional Animal Control Pound - it is simply not necessary - it will traumatize her as she is a puppy mill rescue, and with all the various shifts of staff, volunteers, it is possible they will never contact me - however I will also post there. If her collar is missing and she were to end up there, she has less time before being killed. Thanks very much for any help you can offer.

CONTACT INFO:  PLEASE call the Vinton police so they can check her microchip and/or call me. OR if you can get hold of her, she's very docile - Please get her to the vet and let them check her HOME AGAIN MICROHIP. She was also wearing a solid black rolled leather collar with silver buckle with her dog license tag and her Home Again Microchip tag which has the Chip# and ph#. You can call the 800# and Home Again will contact me. Its possible she may not still have the collar on. She is very docile and missing alot of teeth.

You can also contact me at 540-309-2570 anytime of day or night. I've walked the area looking under sheds, basement window wells, under large shrubs, under parked cars not in use. Its unlikely she has crossed the 4-lane highway to the other side of E Virginia, as well as making to S. Jefferson or Cleveland in downtown Vinton, but anything is possible. Thank you for keeping a look out for her.
